Samsung’s 2021 TV models will get Xbox and GeForce Now apps

Cloud gaming is in high demand from users all over the world. With that said, Samsung is bringing favorites like Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now to its older 2021 smart TVs.

Just this year, Samsung introduced something called the Samsung Gaming Hub, which brings together some of the best cloud gaming platforms into one easy-to-access space. GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Amazon Luna are all available at the Samsung Center. This new feature has been rolled out to Samsung’s 2022 Smart TVs, giving those looking for a new TV some incentive.

Of course, this meant that models made in 2021 would be left in the dust, with no way to play without an external accessory. Now, Samsung has announced that it is bringing standalone cloud gaming apps to smart TVs last year. While the Gaming Hub itself won’t be making its way to 2021 Samsung TVs, apps like GeForce Now, Amazon Luna, and Xbox Cloud Gaming will be available for download via the App Store.

This rollout will be over a set period of time, with GeForce Now being first on the list. Samsung has stated that GFN will be released next week to launch.

Backward compatibility for 2021 Samsung Smart TVs will start next week.

In doing so, compatible TVs will be able to take advantage of the RTX 3080 class and up to 4K at 60fps. There is little doubt that GeForce Now will be an excellent addition to Samsung Smart TVs.

As for the rest of the selected apps, Samsung only indicates that they will arrive before the end of the year. There’s no exact timeline for the Amazon Luna or Xbox app to land on these TVs, though you won’t have to wait long before you see it available for download.
