Jio Plans vs Airtel Fiber Broadband under Rs 500

Both Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are two of the largest ISPs in India at present. If you are looking to get the broadband plan from any of these companies under 500 rupees, well, you will have very limited options. Neither company wants a lot of low-paid customers in the FTTH (fiber to the home) business. JioFiber and Airtel Xstream Fiber are prominent brands in the Indian market with an extensive presence across rural and urban areas. Let’s take a look at the plans from both companies if you are considering options under 500 rupees.

Airtel Xstream Fiber plan under Rs 500

Airtel Xstream Fiber has only one broadband plan under the Rs 500 price category. This plan I’m talking about also comes for 499 rupees, which is right on the verge of 500 rupees. So if that’s your budget, the cap will be exceeded if you buy an Airtel Xstream Fiber plan. The Rs 499 plan from Airtel Xstream Fiber comes with 40Mbps and 3.3TB of monthly data with unlimited free voice calling over a fixed line connection. Users can also access Xstream Premium, Wynk Music, FASTag, and more.

One of the things I would like to add here as a personal touch is that Airtel has a very strong customer care team that supports the service. Within just a few hours of putting up my Twitter complaint about internet misbehavior, someone from the company came and fixed the problem. Note that Jio’s customer service could be as good, better, or worse, but since I haven’t tried it first hand, I can’t comment.

JioFiber plans under 500 rupees

JioFiber has three plans under 500 rupees that you can check out. One is a prepaid plan, and the other two are postpaid plans. Let’s talk about the prepaid plan first. The JioFiber prepaid plan I’m talking about here comes for 399 rupees per month. This is the price plan without taxes. With this plan, users get 30Mbps speed and 3.3TB of monthly data. There is a free voice calling feature included with this feature.

After that, one of the postpaid plans here also costs 399 rupees from JioFiber. This plan also offers the same benefits as the Rs 399 prepaid plan from the company. The company also gives it for six months and twelve months, but this is for new customers only.

The latest broadband plan under Rs 500 from JioFiber is Rs 499 postpaid plan. This plan comes with OTT benefits as well. It offers on-demand TV with access to more than 400+ TV channels. The OTT benefits bundled with this plan are – Universal +, ALTBalaji, Eros Now, Lionsgate Play, JioCinema, ShemarooMe and JioSaavn. JioFiber postpaid plan provides customers with a download and upload speed of 30Mbps.

Here both Jio and Airtel have broadband plans under Rs 500. But if you want the plans with OTT benefits, you will have to use those from JioFiber. JioFiber’s Rs 499 postpaid plan offers OTT benefits but offers lower speed than Airtel’s Rs 499 plan.
