Viritec is the latest company to unveil a new supercar with the launch of Viritec Apricale at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The Viritec Apricale features an FCEV hydrogen powertrain and will produce 1,000 hp and weigh less than 1,000 kg.
The Apricale is the first car in the world to achieve superb zero-emissions performance at just 1,000 kg. This changes the driving experience in Apricale. It combines the agility of the best gasoline supercars with the instant response of an electric motor. In fact, the electric drivetrain means that it’s actually more responsive than a traditional supercar.
However, the Apricale does more than just transform the electric supercar. With a combination of light weight and zero emissions, it opens up a new world of sustainable transportation. Many vehicles cannot operate with a powertrain that weighs more than an equivalent internal combustion engine. So far, these classes of vehicles have been excluded from the transition to zero-emission powertrains, where batteries are always heavier than internal combustion engines – and the higher the power requirements, the bigger the difference.
You can find out more details about the new Viritec Apricale on the company’s website at the link below, where they said that the first deliveries will begin in 2024.
