Xiaomi has ramped up the options for its affordable Poco lineup with the launch of the Poco M4 Pro and Poco X4 Pro 5G.
The duo marks another step in Poco’s growing lineup with the more modest Poco M4 Pro featuring a 6.43-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display, a MediaTek Helio G96 processor, 6/8GB of RAM, plus 128/256GB of internal storage . It also houses a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging while the triple camera setup consists of a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The front camera offers 16MP selfies.
In the meantime, the Poco X4 Pro 5G offers a rather big step up over the impressive X3 series from last year. It’s packaged in a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel that has a 360Hz touch sampling rate of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels or FHD+. This enhanced display is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor along with 6/8 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of internal storage and relies on a 5000 mAh battery. 67W fast charging is also included but there is no room for wireless charging this time around. However, Xiaomi has added an IP53 water and dust resistance rating for added protection.
Another big improvement here is in the camera department. Poco X4 Pro 5G has a 108MP 1/1.56 inch main sensor. This is paired with an 8MP plus 2MP ultra-wide macro sensor. That’s a huge leap over the 48MP sensor used in last year’s X3 series, and with 9 to 1 pixel grouping, it will produce 12MP shots in auto mode. For the selfie camera, it’s rated at 16MP here, too.
Both devices will ship with MIUI 13.0 on top of Android 12, with a number of additional features coming to the latest software release for Western markets. You’ll be able to get the duo in select regions from March 2 in base models priced at €219 (6/128 GB) and €299 (6/128 GB) respectively. Xiaomi is sweetening the deal with two months of free YouTube Premium for all first-time buyers and discounted “Early Bird” prices for the Poco X4 Pro 5G and Poco M4, starting at €249 and €179, respectively.
