After adding the Commute toggle for traffic, Pixel’s At a Glance widget has now introduced a setting to get the Delivery & Receipt Status of Food & Home Orders.
Update 8/22Toggle settings for this feature has been removed via a server-side update. In the past week, we haven’t seen any reports that actual “food and home orders” can work for end users. This was likely a premature launch, and the functionality would make more sense in the new At a Glance settings.
Original 8/16The Food & Home Orders toggle appears noticeably in the Google Assistant version of the Quick Look settings, which is older than the Pixel Launcher variant. The latter is where you find newer features, such as Bluetooth headphones battery status, doorbell previews, and flashlight, while the former is home to weather (just updated with air quality) and upcoming events (calendar, reminders, etc. ).
This extension is enabled by default, which groups each of the feature lists into eight items, and is said to display the Delivery and Receipt Status. We haven’t seen reports of this capability being rolled out yet, but the preference appears to have emerged after a server-side push (instead of an app update) on both Android 12 and 13 devices.
It comes as we’ve been tracking three new capabilities at a glance that we suspect will coincide with the next Pixel Feature Drop. This includes the Food Delivery Arrival Case, which we previously found integrates with DoorDash.
The functionality Google describes today seems broader and should find more use, assuming it’s not just for one delivery service and applies to additional types of orders/packages.
