Samsung SmartThings and Philips Hue have announced a partnership to create immersive music experiences, providing users with “Customizable dynamic lighting that syncs with any music content and allows users to transform their smart home into the ultimate home entertainment hub.“
The SmartThings IoT platform that enables different devices to be connected and controlled remotely by users using companion apps and voice commands is expanding its partnership with Philips Hue lighting in the form of a new Hue Sync integration in the SmartThings platform. Galaxy users will be able to sync their Philips Hue bulbs with most music streaming services directly from their smartphone or tablet.
“Consumers clearly want smarter, more personalized technology, and this integration fulfills that desire by allowing SmartThings users to express their mood from the comfort of their own home,” said Mark Benson, President of SmartThings US. “For the first time, SmartThings users can sync their music and lights to customize the perfect home workout center, house party, or relaxing getaway.”
“Philips Hue has been a longtime partner of SmartThings, providing complete home control of smart devices when pairing Philips Hue bulbs with SmartThings. For years, users have been able to connect Philips Hue bulbs to any Samsung device using the SmartThings app, creating scenes where the lights don’t activate.
