Whether you have a new iPhone, a versatile iPad, or a great Mac—Apple brings you privacy-focused features across its operating systems. These allow users to share the exact types and amount of data they choose and limit the rest. App permissions have been around for many years. They allow you to stop an app from accessing a specific device sensor or data type. Permissions work at the system level, and apps cannot override them. One of the recent privacy additions revolves around the user’s location. It allows you to specify whether the app gets a rough approximation of your wide location or your exact location. This way, the app works without recognizing your exact coordinates. This is perfect for local news and weather apps. You get the results you seek – without giving up your physical location. Here’s how to revoke exact access to an app’s location on iOS.
To revoke precise location access for an app and switch to Wider Appreciation on iOS, follow these steps:
- Play file Settings The app on your iPhone.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list.
- Click on the app you wish to restrict.
- At the bottom, you will find a file Exact location switch.
- When it is turned off, the app will not be able to know your exact coordinates.
Keep in mind that it is wise not to revoke access to the exact location on the iOS navigation maps or apps. Without your exact coordinates, these apps can’t accurately guide you anywhere you’re going or display your actual location on a map. You may also want to leave Precise Location on for iOS messaging apps. This way, when you share your location with one of your friends, they receive your exact coordinates, not their approximations. So you have to decide if the app needs your exact location or not, before you invalidate it.
