Using a simple trick on iPhone 13 or earlier models, users can set up the Always On Display feature, which is not otherwise found on the iPhone.

Always On Display comes on iPhone 14 Pro
While existing iPhone users can use the above workaround to enable Always On Display, the feature is finally coming to iPhone 14. Unfortunately, it will be limited to only Pro models in the series – the iPhone 14 Pro and the higher iPhone 14 Pro. According to supply chain expert Ross Young, iPhone 14 Pro models will feature a variable refresh rate that can drop as low as 1 Hz, enabling the always-on display function.

Apple was reportedly planning to feature iPhone 13 models, but it was delayed. Gurman says the iPhone’s always-on display will show users “seeable information” similar to the Apple Watch.
