We’re just over a week away from the Galaxy Z Fold 4 debut, and the leaks keep pouring in. This week, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 appeared on Amazon to show off its new design, condition, and improved software as well.
A channel on Telegram spotted the Galaxy Z Fold 4 listing on Amazon Netherlands, which shows the device in official images in “beige”. While there’s nothing obvious to learn here when it comes to pricing, Samsung’s own photos give us a clear picture of three major changes.
First of all, we get measurements that show the new aspect ratio of the Fold 4.
As expected, the external screen is now wider with a 6.2-inch 23.1:9 screen. For comparison, the Fold 3 had the same size at 6.2 inches, but with a much narrower 25:9 screen. The internal screen also transitions to a 21.6-inch aspect ratio. : 18 with the same size as 7.6 inches; The Fold 3 has a 5:4 aspect ratio. Samsung also appears to have lowered the hinge and bezel along the left side of the external display.
Two other images in the list also show a new software tweak that Samsung is introducing to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, a bottom-mounted taskbar much like the one in Android 12L.
Google introduced a taskbar in Android 12L that appears on devices with large screens and can host a few apps for quick switching and multitasking with ease. While it’s unclear if Samsung is embracing exactly this feature, it certainly appears to be the case based on these images.
Finally, there’s a sneak peek at the new S Pen for the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Samsung is showing off the “Fold Edition” S Pen along with the Fold 4 in multiple photos, one of which shows that the design of the pen appears mostly unchanged.
The other image shows a new S Pen case for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in a grey-green color that appears to match the phone inside. The pen also matches this color. This is certainly notable, as black was the one and only option for the S Pen last year. The case also has some kind of streak along with the S Pen, but it’s not immediately clear what that is for. Regardless, we’re glad to see Samsung move on from last year’s terrible design.
Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 4 along with the Flip 4, Watch 5 and a new pair of earbuds on August 10. Reservations are now open for enhanced credits when you purchase the Fold 4.
