Samsung is just two weeks away from the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, but it appears that the foldable devices may command a slightly higher price tag according to the latest developments.
This week, a European retailer released the Galaxy Z Fold 4 early, giving us an idea of what to expect from the phone’s price. Jizbau I picked up on the bug, which shows the Galaxy Z Fold 4 priced at €1,863 for its base 256GB model and €1,981 for the 512GB option.
These price tags are not in the format we are used to seeing, but that may be due to the early nature of the listings. What is important is what these price tags indicate, most likely translating to €1,849 and €1,999 for the two variants.
If that price turns out to be correct, Samsung will charge a price increase of nearly $100 for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, compared to a starting price of €1,799 last year in Europe. This is certainly surprising, given that Samsung has so far lowered its prices for the Fold 3 in an effort to make the product more accessible. As foldable technology matures, higher prices are not what most people expect.
But outside of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the same leap appears to be in the Galaxy Z Flip 4. PriceSpaba Last week it posted what it claims is its price for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in Europe, which is also seeing an increase compared to the Flip 3. According to this leak, the Flip 4 will start at €1,080, with the 256GB model at €1,160 and the 512GB class at €1. 280 euros. That’s barely higher than last year’s starting price of €1,049, but still a slight jump.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 are expected to debut with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, updated hinge designs and less noticeable display wrinkles, as well as new color options and better battery life on the Flip 4.
Samsung will officially announce the Flip 4 and Fold 4 on August 10, and you can reserve your place in line for either device now and get credits of up to $200 for your purchase.
