They are here! Two weeks after Samsung announced its fourth generation of foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 officially hit the market today, and you can still get some solid deals now that pre-orders are out.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are iterative upgrades over the previous generation, but both with some significant additions to enhance the experience. As we noted in our Galaxy Z Flip 4 review, the biggest upgrade on this device is battery life, which can now easily last a full day for most people, and it charges faster as well. The cameras have also been slightly upgraded.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 brings a major upgrade to its camera system with a 50MP primary sensor, and it does a lot of tweaking on the rest of its foldable variant. The device is thinner and lighter, and it has adjusted the aspect ratios of both the internal and external screens to make them wider and more useful. The inner screen also has less noticeable crease than previous generations.
The Flip 4’s $999 price tag is reasonable in our book, and it doesn’t get much extra charging from a traditional smartphone with its same specs. Instead, this device is just a matter of where the buyer’s priorities are. The Galaxy Z Fold 4, on the other hand, comes at a hefty cost of $1,799, which is a hard pill to swallow, even if it’s the only device on the market that can do what it does.
Fortunately, Samsung is not shy about offering great deals on these devices.
During pre-orders, Samsung was offering perks like double your storage for free, enhanced trade-in credits of up to $1,000, and “instant credit” that can be put into cases or accessories or even the Galaxy Watch 5 – the Watch 5 and Pro are also official today.
Now that pre-orders are out, Samsung has dropped some of these deals, but you can still get some solid deals on Samsung.com if you’re looking to buy a Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Galaxy Z Flip 4.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is available through Samsung’s website with a trading balance of $900, just $100 less than pre-orders. You’ll get that full credit with devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 3, S22 Ultra, and Note 20 Ultra. Perhaps the best value comes from the Galaxy S21 and S22, both of which can redeem the full retail value of around $800 to put them in the Fold 4. Samsung will also offer Protection + Care in three months, a feature that wasn’t available for pre-orders if you’re Live in the United States. Plus, you can still get $150 credit if you combine with the Galaxy Watch 5 and Buds 2 Pro — you also get 30% off with this bundle.

What about Flip 4? Samsung has the same 30% bundle deal with Watch and Buds, but with only an additional $50 credit on top. Deals can cut up to $700 off the price, too, with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Z Fold 3, and Flip 3 eligible for the full $700. Like the Fold 4, three months of Care+ are also available.
Carriers and retailers still have some strong showings. Verizon is offering up to $800 off the Fold feature with exchanges and unlimited 5G plans, and Flip 4 for free. AT&T still offers an exceptional $1,000 credit Which Galaxy device towards the Fold 4 or Flip 4, which makes the latter free. T-Mobile is giving away the Flip 4 for free with a new Magenta Max line, no trade-in required. Best Buy is offering up to $1,200 of these devices with “qualified” exchanges and activations, too.
Bringing things together Let’s talk about hours. The Galaxy Watch 5 continues to offer $75 in commercial credit to any other smartwatch, with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro offering $125 as a credit. But with newer watches, like the Galaxy Watch 4 / Classic, you can get up to $165 for a Watch 5 or $240 for a Watch 5 Pro.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, and Watch deals are sure to change a lot in the coming weeks and months as these devices roll past their launch day, and history tells us there will be some solid deals ahead!
