The redesigned Prime Video user interface is currently being implemented by Amazon with the main goal of making it easier for users to find content.
The company said in an official statement that the Prime Video app will now have a more user-friendly main navigation bar for quick access to movies, TV episodes, sports and premium channels.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and The Marvelous Mrs.Masel will both be accessible to Prime Video customers, thanks to an updated menu. Additionally, for easier access, the new navigation menu in the living room apps has been shifted to the side of the screen.
More about the revamped Prime Video app
The updated user interface of the new app includes a circle with movies with more interesting visuals. For example, “Top Ten Chart” will feature the most watched and popular Prime Video content, while “Super Carousel” will highlight notable films such as Amazon Originals and Exclusives.
Six home pages – Home, Store, Search, Live TV, Free with Ads, and My Stuff – will be available when the Prime Video app launches. There will also be sub-navigation options if the visitor wishes to browse by type of information or display.
In addition, Amazon makes it easy for Prime Video subscribers to distinguish between free content with their subscription and those they have to pay for. To do this, titles now include visual cues in the form of a blue checkmark icon for readily available content and a shopping bag indicator for titles that require purchase.
In addition, all videos that come with a Prime subscription can be viewed by selecting the My subscriptions row at the top of the main page.
The new user interface has also improved the search page. Results can be filtered by genre or 4K UHD at the discretion of Prime members.
According to a statement from Amazon, the new interface has already started rolling out for Fire TV, Android, and other connected living room devices, and will soon be available for iOS and the web.
